Hello, my name is David Anthony aka DaveSanity and I am an emcee/engineer/producer. I work with acoustic artists and other urban recording artists, as well. My goal is to to upgrade Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0.5 to Pro Tools 9, primarily because I would like to upgrade my M-Audio Fast Track Pro to the Steinberg UR22. However, the minimum system requirements for Pro Tools 9 is 2 GB of RAM; 4 GB recommended. First of all, is my operating system even compatible with Pro Tools 9? And, will my computer be able to handle it? This is what the system requirements say:
'System Software: Snow Leopard: Mac OS X 10.6.2, 10.6.3, 10.6.4, 10.6.5, 10.6.6, 10.6.7, or 10.6.8 (32 or 64-bit)' and 'Pro Tools 9.0 and 9.0.1 not tested with 10.6.7 and higher'
So, as you can see, I'm a tad confused. It states that Pro Tools 9 is compatible with Snow Leopard 10.6.8, then it says that Pro Tools 9.0 and 9.1 has not been tested with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. The only other sequencer I would consider is Logic Pro, but I would like to stick to Pro Tools, because I earned my Pro Tools Specialist Certificate from Berkleemusic.com; thus, it would make more sense if I just stuck with it. I also plan on getting SampleTank 2 XL and Melodyne Assistant sometime down the road, as well, so keep that in mind. Any help is greatly appreciated and don't hesitate to ask if you need more information. Thank you. :)
